Use this guide to learn which hospitals are in your network.

We connect our members to thousands of physicians and nine local hospitals with emergency room services. This translates into a network of care in every neighborhood across San Diego and southern Riverside counties.

The following hospitals are available to CalPERS members.

No doctor referral needed

You don’t need a referral from your primary care doctor to get access to behavioral health services. However, only services offered through plan providers will be covered. So, the best way to ensure coverage is to find a doctor in your network before taking the next step.

Download the Provider & Pharmacy Directory which lists all primary care physicians, hospitals, urgent care centers, and pharmacies in your network.

Some hospitals and other providers do not provide one or more of the following services that may be covered under your plan contract and that you or your family member might need: family planning; contraceptive services, including emergency contraception; sterilization, including tubal ligation at the time of labor and delivery; infertility treatments; or abortion. You should obtain more information before you choose a plan. Call your prospective doctor, medical group, independent practice association, or clinic, or call Customer Care at 1-833-346-4322 to ensure that you can obtain the healthcare services that you need.

Individual hospitals may disagree with the methodology used to define the cost ranges, the cost data, or quality measures. Many factors may influence cost or quality, including, but not limited to, the cost of uninsured and charity care, the type and severity of procedures, the case mix of a hospital, special services such as trauma centers, burn units, medical and other educational programs, research, transplant services, technology, payer mix, and other factors affecting individual hospitals.
